As the final minutes of Christmas are dwindling to an end...

I'm okay now... I've survived my little college dilemma-crisis. Ended up sleeping at 6am yesterday because I was totally freaking out lol... Anyways! I can't wait until Sunday. I'll be heading back to Singapore then. I have tons of things to do. First thing is to go mugging intensive. Second is to watch Avatar ^^.

So yeah on Christmas Day of '09. I went shopping... grocery shopping, that is. Oh how fun, I can hardly contain myself. No, Liz... I didn't get the cheese you suggested. I bought some crackers that had a cheesy flavour, does that count? Hahahahahhaa. Okay, I'm off.

nvm I'm not going to clean my room.

I've decided to tell on this blog my very troubled and fustrated mind as I am pondering over my future!

First of all... I want to tell you that when I was younger I wanted to become a psychiatrist. I can always envision myself sitting in some comfty chair with some stranger spilling out their life problems as I nod away "yep yep.. uh huh". But here I am... in Singapore lol which does not provide a large market of people who are willing to spend $100-500 dollars an hour to hear a stranger's advice on how to fix their problems. Hahahahhaa, darn. So, where does that leave me? Of course! With my second option, accountancy! I like math... I don't mind working at a company... it pays (well) and its very in-demand. What a practical choice, practical Lisa... hahahaa. Oh boo hoo, it's probably going to be really boring and I will just die inside but nevermind!! Every other option is so risky and I am too afraid :(

Okay here comes the boring part. I hate that I need a practically perfect score to be in a secure position to take accountacy at a Uni here... it's very frightening because.. duh, what if I can't get the A's needed. And the Unis here aren't even considered top-ranked or even well-recognized in the world yet the difficulty (in my opinion) in gaining an acceptance is practically on par with the Ivy leagues! And the bigger question is, do I still want to work and live here in the future?? Because if I want to live overseas, are my credentials ever going to be enough?? :(

I have another choice which is to go straight into accountancy training by taking ACCA... which is basically a 3-year course that all accountants must take anyways (despite if they've gone to Uni). People are able to skip Uni and take ACCA and from that, they are already qualified to work at companies at the age of 21! People who decide to go Uni must take ACCA afterwards (maybe part-time while they are working) but my jie (ah peh's daughter) says her colleagues who have gone down that route are really suffering from work overload. So, if I go ACCA now... I am at a disadvantage without a degree in the future (but jie says it doesn't matter if you have a degree or not because the company will promote you based on your performance)! HOWEVER (too many however's, seriously), ACCA offers you an option of getting a Bachelor's Degree if you complete it's Part 2 (whatever) from Oxford-Brookes University (not the real Oxford). So, if you want to be safe, you can still get a degree from a not-so-well-known Uni (in case you want to back out of accountancy).

But I don't want to give up on my dreams of going to a really prestigious University (marvels at people who graduated from Columbia, Stanford, Yale *cries*). Is it really stupid of me to dream and hope that I can get in? or even find the money to afford it? Considering that I am an international student, I am already at a disadvatnage (dammit mom, why'd you make me move!!). Second of all... am I even smart enough to make it... :( very sad already... But, I've decided that I am just going to try my best and hopefully be able to at least make it into a Uni here. I'll try to partically study for SATs (used to measure academic ability for US Unis) on the sideline so I can take it after I complete A's... Really hope it all works out .. :( I'm so lame lol.

Officially done!

Man am I happy now! It is 12:45 AM on this happy early morning of 23 December (omg! xmas is 2 days away..) and I have just completed my last documentary review for the GP holiday homework! It was quite a breeze, I just copied reviews from amazon and jumbled some words hahahaha. I didn't even watch any of the documentaries I wrote about!! :D I feel so sly LOL. That's what the school gets for giving us such a dumb assignment... honestly, what were they thinking. -.-

Okay, anyways... I love living in Malaysia man... Yesterday, our whole area experienced a black-out at 8pm -_- (FOR ALMOST 2 HOURS!!) Couldn't see a thing except the light from candles and it was very hot -__- Thank god I had my laptop so I could at least play some games  (since no electricity = no internet)... What was more annoying was that those stupid foreigner workers that live nearby started going in the street playing retarded music v loudly and talking damn loud also like retards... zzzz... they are so gay please. Ok.. maybe I'm being a little too mean but seriously!!

Haha anyways this black-out reminds me of the black-outs that happened in NYC when I was quite young... there was thing one blackout I think that lasted for like 2 days. All I remember from that was, the shower I took was quite cold LOL. Kay... off to clean my room (it's very messy!!! Love my grandmother for not caring how my disorganized my room looks....unlike cough)... LOL

Piccs from KL (not much)

Before my uncle drove us to Genting we stopped by the strawberry farm LOL. Hahahahaha.... it was sort of lame... -.- here are the growing strawberries (so small right??)... it was damn hot in that place..

k then we took a pic. ok i look ugly but here is what my grandparents look like!

my ah kong so cute right heeeeheee lmao but he's cuter with a vest hahhaa!!

Okay then.. Cable car up! WOoo.. steep man. I was getting a migrane from the trip up...

and then.. we made it to GENTING!! The place was so foggy...

Okay.. this is in KL Central!! Uncle took us to Menra Kuala Lumpur, that tall tall tall tower.... Here's the petronas towers from the observation deck :D

Ok anywaays. On the way back from KL we visited my poh poh (grandmother on mom's side). She lives in a KAMPONG area hahahaa! I still remember she used to raise chickens... and I would get to eat freshhhh eggs in the morning hehe!! She still has them! Look chicks!!

We also stopped by Malacca on our way back. Quite a tourist spot... Spotted tons of ang mos hahahaha ^^. Ate at this crowded chicken rice place... (same as HL lol!). It was recommended by all the locals and there was even a QUEUE... wtf... but the chicken + rice balls wasn't even good LOL it was just average... I had better chicken rice in JB today ^^ yummers. OH YA. Then, we went to eat CHENDOLLLL OMG. I think I used to love this when I was little cuz I immediately recognized the taste when I tried it!!! My grandparents had the regular one... and I got the Durian (durian fanatic here...). Kind of regret it cuz theirs taste nicer! Durian is nice but too overpowering the regular taste haha! Quite exx tho... 6 ringgit for mine wtf... ice kachang in msia streets are like only 1-2 riggit.. hahaha. Damn tourists.

Okay that's all. I will force myself to do work... yesterday so failed... I ended up getting obssessed about pokemon FML.

Contacts

So I went to the optician today and got new lenses for my glasses and a box of contacts :D 200 ringgit hahaha. Anyhoo... MY EYESIGHT GOT SOO WORSE!!!!!!!!!!!! It went from -1.50 (L) -1.75 (R) to -2.75 (L) -2.5 (R) WTF!!!!! My left eye is a nightmare... -1.25 degree worse MOTHER!! No wonder those stupid glasses gave me a migrane.. they were too weak. I knew I should've had my eyes checked last year.... waiting 2 years was a bad idea :( sniff sniff. Okay nvm! I learned how to wear contacts wooohooo!!! It was kind of weird to stick something in my eye but it was okay hehehee. The doctor said I did it very quick and well ;) teehee. But I still have troubles taking it out... freak. It so goes against my nature to stick my finger directly onto my eyes lol... but hey I can see!!

Reminder!

Reminder for me to the Alice in Wonderland movie coming out in 2010.. looks really cool haha!

Someone slap me

Had a fun time at KL!! Too bad the trip was so short... It took a whole day for my grandfather to drive us there... he really shouldn't drive when he's that old lol!! So Stubborn! We got totally lost and asked LITERALLY 6 strangers (yes, I counted) to help us! One person's suggestion would lead us the wrong way... then the next would say the previous guy was wrong.... omg then who's right?? Hahaa! In the end, this really helpful guy called my ah peh to tell our location so he could fetch us lol!

Okay so ah peh is like my grandfather's god-mother's son's eldest son (wow right?? LOL). I'm not sure if they're our god-relatives or not but something like that... It's too confusing... cuz my grandmother tried to explain it to me in Chinese and I didn't understand lol... So, can I just call him uncle or not haha!!

They have a huge family hahaha like 9 siblings I think... which means a lot of kids :D most of them had Chinese names T_T so hard to remember and pronounce lol! Reminds me of my first day at school hahahaha (ctg 120)! LOL anyways, we all played hide and seek in ah peh's house (it's huge man!! he bought 2 houses next to each other and combined them hahha). it was fun cuz those little kids are so cute lol and it's so funny where they hide (behind the curtain lol, they're so small we can't even notice!)...

OMG and their family (the adults) are crazyyyy happy LOL. They laugh like mad hahahhaa like really loud lol!! But it's really refreshing to hear them because they're really really just happy-go-lucky people.. haha their energy is very bright and I feel happy myself just being around them.

I really have to brush up on my Chinese... the kids all speak in Chinese when they talk to each other so the extra effort to change in English to me must suck forr them :(... and the little kids don't really speak English either... their Chinese so cute!!!!! I didn't take pictures but my mei mei (lol, I feel weird being called jie), SZE YOO took pictures... I'll upload them from facebook when she uploads. Anyways Sze yoo is really friendly and nice haha and I'm so glad our family knows each other so I can visit her next time! :D Her mum's really nice too!

OKAY ANYWAYS.......... back to my title. Someone plssssss slap me, ireallyneedtostartmywork!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! omg!!!!!!!!! Okay I think I'll just slap myself... I've been re-reading the Twilight Saga the past few days. I finished actually... at the expense of my sleep pattern.. sleeping at 5am gg, but atleast this time was better than the first time I read the series.. I stayed up until 9am... woke up at 12pm to eat what my grandfather tapau'd me for lunch... go back to sleep until like 5pm... then wake up again and READ UNTIL 9AM AGAIN HAHA (nothing would stop me except when I had to eat or go BR) What a freak right lol!! Anyways, I hatee the actor that's playing Edward man.... totally ruin the dream image LOL. And the actor that plays Jacob in the new movie isn't so hot either ... dunno what the big deal is HAHA. OKAY I must study.. I will do my work PLS Lisa!! I'll start now....

BTW I'M GETTING NEW GLASSES I THINK!! Haha my grandfather taking me to the optician tmr to get my eyes checked.. FINALLY!! I haven't changed my lenses for like 2 years already... and I think they're getting too weak for me... I want contacts too and hopefully I can get them (muhaha at a granddaughter's request)! K I GO DO MY HW (TRY MY BEST). BYEES.

can't.... breathe

They're spraying the mosquito killing stuff all over the streets and it's creeping through the windows and OMG I CAN'T BREATHE.

Siao, I went downstairs and it was even worse. My grandfather left the door and windows all open -_- The whole place was foggy.... and I freaked out because I really couldn't breathe properly then my grandfather had me stand in front of the kitchen fan hahahaa. It's going away now.. and I've retreated back to my room... damn mosquito sprayers.

..........that lady!!

So I spent the Monday just to apply for a new visit pass since I lost it. I went to the ICA building at Lavander where this lady gave me a number to queue for... So I waited. and waited. and waiteeeeeed for 2 hours until it was my turn. Then the person at the counter informed me I was in the queue for people who have lost their passports. what the shit. I was angry, ANGRY, ANGRYYYY. I just spent 2 hours, literally bored out of my brains, waiting for nothing. OMGGGGGGGGGGG. Angry. Writing about it, I am even pissed now! That stupid lady. I gave her my freaking passport to look at including a police report for a LOST VISIT PASS. Why the hell did she give me a number to queue for a LOST PASSPORT. Is there any logic??? Can you do your job correctly? Luckily she wasn't there when I went back to the counters that assign you the numbers.... my grandfather was quite ticked off too and had that let-me-speak-to-your-supervisor demanding loook *scary*.

Then starts my second leg of the adventure. The new lady said I had to get a letter from the school saying I'm a student enrolled in YJC..... omfg. I'm in Lavander, pleaseee world, why are you messing with me?? My student pass clearly states that I'm enrolled in YJC, why do I need another letter just to confirm that? And why didn't the immigration officers tell me beforehand that I had to bring that to the ICA when I asked what forms I needed to bring!! DAMMIT I had just travelled to YJC in the morning for the interview also. If they had just told me, I could've gotten it then!!!! So back to YJC... from Lavander... for a 5 minute signing and giving me of a stupid paper. dammit dammit. Then from Yishun back to Lavander.. freak la. damnnnnnnnit. By the time we were all finished with the application and reached my great-aunt's house at Boon Kang, it was already past 5... -.-

I have to give props to my grandfather for enduring the whole journey.... it was like torture to me man and it must have been for him too, when it was my carelessness that I lost the card in the first place :'(

Anyways, I have to say that travelling with my grandfather on the MRT was an enlightening experience. It just opened my eyes to the sheer inconsideration and thoughtlessness of MOST people who just sat by in their seats, trying to look unashamed for watching my poor grandfather!! Omg come on man!! My grandfather is so old already and it hurts old people to stand for a long time you know!! What do you feel when you stand? A little feeling of pain on your feet is little to what they feel! Have some compassion you damn assholes. I hope that when they're old and their whole body aches, nobody will give them any seats all the way from Juroung East to Pasir Ris. FAggotssssssss.

For those people that did give up their seats, I sincerely thank you with all my heart! I would gladly trade my future seat on the mrt so that your grandparents can sit down also! ty ty ty ty!

eh eh eh eh eh eh stop telephonin me

Jeeez... just kill me already, I didn't do anything productive again!! I played Bejeweled and Spider Solitare on the computer for hours (YES MORE THAN ONE HAHA). Then the rest of time I spent reading National Geographic... especially this article on the extremist activity in SEA then I went to research about Indonesia's past like the Juharta Riots in 1989.... scary stuff man. Oh yeah and I also napped for like 3 hrs gg LOL.. But I promise, after I get my notes from Singapore this weekend, I will study!!

Today, I went to the supermarket with my grandparents again. They needed to buy a lot of food stuff to bring into Singapore for my gradfather's jie because it's much cheaper to buy stuff here lol! Guess what my grandfather bought again... more PAPAYAS.... omgggggg.............

Tonight, we finally went out to eat for dinner!! This whole week we've been eating dinner at home with my ah ma's cooking... It's nice but it gets a little boring haha. We went to Johor Jaya (great place for food!) I had yong tao fu because I haven't had it in so long... yays.. and some popiah, scrambled egg and oysters (I forgot if there's a name for this dish), and then finally... SATAY!!!

Then, to finish it off some of this really nice soup! It's red in color and has red beans inside but it's not called red bean soup.. It's something else.. cause it also has these small blackish beans inside and I think they put coconut milk...

I tau pau'd that for home... but I had to eat it late because I had to drink papaya milk first... :@ too much already!! Stuffed T.T I feel like some fat turkey HAHA whatever~

Anyways, I'm learning Malay from my grandmother!
salu - already paid
bolum - uh.. (i forgot LOL)
lanni - wait a bit
jagan - walking

Haha I think I got some of those wrong... but nvm! Okay enough for todayy.. I'm going back to reading National Geographic and listening to Lady Gaga's Telephone --lyrics in the title :D (the song sucked at first but now it's getting stuck in my head -.-). Coming into Singapore tomorrow for an interview @ school on Monday for the mentorship programme.... Will be going back to Malaysia that same day after I collect my notes! I hope I can get pass the immigration... because I lost my visit pass (the one paired up with my student pass)... sigh.. why did I lose it!! :{

Rarararara

I’ve finally got my laptop back. With a new LCD!! This one is superduper clean but give it a couple days and dust will come :(! But finally! I don’t have to compete with my grandfather to use his computer hahaha! Anyways, I can now upload the pictures I've been taking in Malaysiaaaaaa (nothing else to do).

My grandfather's been making papaya milk drink for all of us daily. He says he tried it in Taiwan with my grandmother and they both liked it, so they learned how to make it. It's quite easy to make though haha. Btw I googled papaya milk and there's a story on it that says it helps your boobs grow HAHAHA.

Okay, so all you need to do is cut the papaya into little cubes. After placing it into the blender, you add some water, ice, sugar, and full cream milk! And just guess with the amounts, it doesn't really matter. See? Really simple!

Then, you blend.... and tadaa!

It's pretty nice at first... but after drinking 2-3 cups of this daily, I want to puke already! Haha I'm just kidding, I still like it... but drinking it is like a chore if I get to drink it everyday. Well, there was one day we ran out of papaya (woot) but my grandfather decided to blend something anyways! So he blended apples, oranges, and carrots together lol.... so funny. I've never actually had real fruit juice before so it being a little chunky was weird haha! But it was nice nonetheless!

Anyways, yesterday we went to JUSCO (shopping center) because there was a hugeee sale going on, like crazy discounts! My grandfather wanted to head out at 8:30am so we could eat breakfast and then reach Jusco at 9:30... but guess who woke up late :( Anyways, we still managed to leave by 9:15 to catch breakfast... I had this nasi lemak which was super good!! I think it's the sauce.. I really liked it because it wasn't too spicy haha!

Pretty right? The coconut leaf design? Well, maybe not.. but I thought it was a good catch for only 2 RM :P

My grandfather had this. I forgot what it's called but it starts with a L I think. Nvm it's called Lontong (thx hl!)

He bought me this for breakfast this morning also. It's quite niceee I like the Malay one better than the Indonesian one... tastes nicer. The rice is like those satay kind of rice... with a lot of veges.

Anyways... we reached Jusco around 10 and it was SUPER PACKEDDDDDDDDDDDDDD!! We parked like a gazillion miles away because no more spaces haha. But anyways, it was worth it because I got to eat my coffeeeeee bun!!!!!!!!!!! Lookieeeeeeeeeeee

It's super nice when it's warm!

Haha I bought 3 LOL. But one I gave to my brother. Then, the other one I ate while walking around Jusco... then the last I brought home to eat HEHEHEHE.

Yum yum yum...

O ya and another thing I bought at Jusco!! There's this vendor that sells goat milk (gross right??) but my grandfather loves it HAHAHAHA. In the past, he would always buy a bottle when we shop there. And I've always been disgusted by it because it's goats wtf!! hahaha. But this time, they had free samples of other flavours of goat milk like strawberry and orange... My mind was chanting "free free free free" so I couldn't resist and was like what the heck and tried a few. It was actually nice, so my grandfather bought me like 3 packets LOL! Pretty good!! I even took their pamphlet.. it was pretty lol.

OKay... I really need sleep now so I'll go off... but I really need to stop going online and searching stuff about random things like LADY GAGA LOL! But Bad Romance is nice~ (hence the title) okay end!! bye:D

--Oops. Forgot to add in some extra photos.

This was the pasar I mentioned in my previous post. I only have this picture and it's taken from my cellphone. It's of a pretty desolated area because I was too embarassed in front of people to go around snapping photos with my camera while everyone was hustling to buy stuff LOL!!

Ok this was the chi chong fan (thx xe:D) I had!! Pretty right?? But I really didn't like it.. and the chili was SOOOO SPICY haha!

But the youtiao was good LOL (who can possibly fail at making this?)

At the birthday dinner for my great-uncle...

The remains of my super delicious DURIAN cake!! I miss it now.. *cries* I was too caught up eating it that I forgot to take a picture for remembrance sakes! ... :( But there are still yellow crumbs left you see! Please get me a durian cake for my next birthday haha!!

Okay now I'm really off!! Need to catch some ZzzZzZ's
